The company's origins can be traced back to 1991, when Rex and Marilyn Trimnell founded X-Lite UK, a company that designed and manufactured bicycle components. Rex, frustrated with the cleaning products available at the time, developed a "perfectly pink" cleaner specifically for his bike. This biodegradable, non-caustic cleaner was a hit, and Muc-Off was born in 1994.
